The tradition of upgrade-able underwater systems from Gates continues: DEEP EPIC, DEEP DRAGON, DEEP WEAPON, and now DEEP WEAPON – RAPTOR (DW-R). All versions – DSMC1 / 2/ 3 are compatible with user-changeable items. Signature features are carried throughout: support for a wide range of PL and DSLR glass; external monitor; adjustable grips with fingertip focus / iris / zoom controls; and adjustable buoyancy / trim. The new Gates COMMAND / CONTROL Module (GCC) provides extensive camera control.
Never has there been a more versatile do-everything underwater rig. serving cinema, TV, Natural History, documentary, research, military and countless other applications. RTB7 Underwater Monitor Housing
Compatible Housings: DEEP WEAPON PRO EXPLORE PRO ACTION
With an amazingly bright 2200 nit display, the RED PRO TOUCH ULTRA-BRITE 7.0″ LCD (not included) in the GATES RTB7 Underwater Monitor makes framing, focus and exposure easy in the brightest daylight conditions. A wide variety of useful tools like edge peaking, false color, magnify and more are accessible via four easy-to-reach assignable push controls on the RTB7 left side.
Under exclusive license from RED, the LCD cable is “bulletproof”, too. No additional connectors are between DSMC2 camera and LCD, the result of a Gates proprietary ‘pass through’ design. The cable has further been adapted with tough polyurethane jacket and — should the jacket be damaged — internal water blocking materials to inhibit water migration toward camera and LCD, protecting your investment in the worst case situation.
RT47 Underwater Monitor Housing

Designed specifically for the RED TOUCH 4.7″ LCD (not included), the RT47 Underwater Monitor provides access to all monitor functions including four side assignable buttons. Under license from RED Digital Cinema and utilizing Gates original bulkhead ‘pass through’ design, the interface cable between RED DSMC/DSMC2 cameras and RED TOUCH 4.7 is unbroken by additional connectors. Further, the cable has been adapted with a tough polyurethane jacket and internal water blocking materials.
Starlite External Monitor Housing
The Gates Starlite ST5 is specifically designed for the Transvideo Starlite SDI monitor / recorder (not included), a compact, smartphone-size 5.0” / 125mm color LCD.
Red Pro 5 External Monitor

The RED PRO 5 External Monitor is standard issue with DEEP DRAGON. It is designed specifically for the RED TOUCH 5.0″ LCD (not included). The best camera in the world can’t make up for poor optics. Poor optical design and materials introduce ‘image killers’ – distortions, aberrations, degraded resolution, or vignetting. DOME PORTS
SP80 Standard (Dome) Port
The SP80 preserves field of view (FOV) underwater, and is ideally suited for wide to fisheye imaging. Medium to macro, too, when paired with a macro zoom lens. Anti-Reflective (AR) coated glass or optical grade Acrylic (Perspex) versions, the latter field serviceable / replaceable.
SP80-10 Dome Port
The SP80-10 is a 10in / 254mm spherical dome port that, like it’s smaller SP80-8 sibling preserves field of view (FOV) underwater for wide to fisheye imaging. The SP80-10 however, exhibits superior compatibility with rectilinear lenses, mitigating the soft corners classically found with dome ports in general. This particularly beneficial with certain cinema PL mount glass like Arri Master Primes and Ultra Primes.
The SP80-10 is available in Anti-Reflective (AR) coated glass only.
SP110-12 Dome Port
At a remarkable 12.6 in / 320 mm diameter, the SP110-12 stands alone, a new standard in underwater optics. Optical glass with anti-reflective coating, SP110-12 is designed for rectilinear cinema lenses, yet equally at home in natural history applications where split shots and close focus are key parameters. ARRI Master Primes, Fujinon Cinema Zoom’s and Anamorphic Lenses all benefit from this superior, ‘no compromises’ Dome Port.
The SP110-12 is available in Anti-Reflective (AR) coated glass only.
FLAT PORTS
FP80 Flat Port
Due to its larger front element, the FP80 supports a variety of medium to macro lenses – including external zooms. A simple, versatile port option. Both Acrylic (Perspex) and Glass versions available.
SPECIALIZED PORT / ADAPTERS
MLA80 Macro Probe Lens Adapter
In collaboration with Venus Optics, the Gates MLA80 Probe Lens Adapter allows full submersion of the Laowa 24mm Macro Probe lens for truly unique macro imaging perspective. A long, tubular barrel with tiny lens tip can extend into the smallest of spaces, yet provide a remarkable 84° FOV, 2:1 magnification, and infinity focus. Further, the Laowa 24mm Macro covers full frame *and* larger sensors like RED Monstro from a standard Canon or Nikon mount.

NIKONOS RS ADAPTER KIT
Designed by Nikon specifically for underwater use, the Nikonos RS suite of lenses – 13mm fisheye, 28mm, 50mm macro and 20-35mm zoom — remain underwater glass par excellence. They have a convenient bayonet mount / release system, and are fully integrated to Gates housings with both focus and iris functions mapped directly to the housing controls – a genuinely innovative design. And of course the Nikonos RS Adapter Kit comes with Gates 2 year warranty and legendary service.
