Evergreen Films and BBC Earth teamed up 4 years ago on the blue chip 3D film Enchanted Kingdom: Wild Africa. It is making releasing into theaters around the world, and is one of the most remarkable, ground breaking 3D features to grace the big screen. Our friends at Evergreen pioneered shots with a 3D Atom platform that had never been done before, and it brings to our eyes perspectives that….well, just go see it.
This behind the scenes episode features the Gates DEEP ATOM rig filming native 3D underwater sequences. Despite the rise and fall of 3D, it remains one of the biggest projects ever undertaken by Gates, establishing many ‘firsts’ in underwater digital 3D acquisition.
